June 21, 1965 – Richmond City Council recognizes Richmond Community Action Program as the cities official community action agency.

Late 1990s –The city of Petersburg recognizes Richmond Community Action Program as the cities official community action agency.

March 2009 – RCAP name changed to Capital Area Partnership Uplifting People (CAPUP) to show coverage in areas outside of Richmond.

June 2009 – The city of Hopewell recognizes CAPUP as the cities official community action agency.

May 2012 – Dinwiddie Board of Supervisors passes resolution recognizing CAPUP as the cities official community action agency.

June 2012 – Prince George Board of Supervisors passes resolution recognizing CAPUP as the cities official community action agency.

CAPUP offers contract services in Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte Court House, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward.
