My name is John Lewis and I have been involved with CAPUP since 2009. I have filled various roles from volunteer to full time employee. Title wise, I am the Building and Grounds Manager (since 2017). Personally, I think that is a fancy title for Mr. fixit! or the guy who is willing to take on any task. Before this life, I was a commercial and residential builder and held a Builders License in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. That background and experience has given me great strength to accomplish all of my tasks at CAPUP. I have many roles at CAPUP and there are some days I have to go from electrician, plumber, carpenter and clean up so I can look presentable and deliver meals to seniors who are at home and part of the Senior Connection program. But, I am glad to do it because of people like Lucy who always greats me with a smile as she struggles to get on the porch with her walker and is so so so grateful for the food I bring to her. When I’m not fixing , repairing, delivering or cutting the grass, I’m probably just lounging around with Zeke (pitbull) and Cricket (rescue boxer). Oh, and I also like spending time with wife!I look forward to many great years to come at CAPUP!!
